How do I activate 911 on the phone?
- Open the app and select your Tin Can
- Tap the settings cog next to your Tin Can number
- Toggle 911 Calling "on"
- Enter your address and select the closest match
- Add unit details if needed
Address verification can take up to 3 business days, and you’ll be notified when it’s complete. You can still call 911 during verification, but you’ll need to share your address verbally.
You can dial 933 anytime to hear the address readback and confirm it’s correct.

Can my Tin Can call 911 if there is a power outage?
If you lose power at your home, your Tin Can phone will not be able to call 911. Tin Can requires a power source and an active internet connection to make or receive any calls, including emergency services.
