  • How do I activate 911 on the phone?
    • Open the app and select your Tin Can
    • Tap the settings cog next to your Tin Can number 
    • Toggle 911 Calling "on" 
    • Enter your address and select the closest match
    • Add unit details if needed

    Address verification can take up to 3 business days, and you’ll be notified when it’s complete. You can still call 911 during verification, but you’ll need to share your address verbally.

    You can dial 933 anytime to hear the address readback and confirm it’s correct.

  • Does 911 work for Can 2 Can numbers too?

    Yes, 911 calling is supported on both the Can 2 Can and the Party Line plans.

     

  • Do I have to enable 911 services on the phone?

     

    No, you do not have to enable 911 services on your Tin Can phone. If you wish not to enable this feature, you can proceed with your device setup as it is not a requirement.

     

  • Can my Tin Can call 911 if there is a power outage?

    If you lose power at your home, your Tin Can phone will not be able to call 911. Tin Can requires a power source and an active internet connection to make or receive any calls, including emergency services.
